Dr. Paul Mighion earned a BA in Health Science from Kalamazoo College in Michigan. While there he did research at the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company. He also had the opportunity to work at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. and a study abroad in Munster, Germany. He graduated from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1984 and immediately moved to Concord, NC where he worked as an associate in a dental office. Dr. Mighion moved to Mocksville in 1987 to continue and expand the practice of a retiring dentist. Dr. Mighion has taken many continuing education classes including a two year course in orthodontics, a UNC mini-residency in periodontics, and a hands-on course in endodontics that was taught by the designer of the most modern endodontic materials and techniques. Dr. Mighion keeps current by taking advanced coursework at the Pankey Institute and through extensive lectures by Dr. Frank Spears. He has also taken many advanced classes on restoring dental implants. Dr. Mighion’s wife, Janet, is a retired veterinarian. They have two grown sons, Jeffrey and James, who are both graduates of UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Mighion likes to golf, travel, cook; and watch sporting events and movies. He is a UNC basketball fan, and also enjoys keeping up with the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. Dr. Mighion is an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mocksville. He is a member of the Mocksville Rotary club where he is a Paul Harris Fellow. As a Rotarian, he has participated in a Triad Flight of Honor that honors World War II veterans by flying them to Washington, DC. He has served on both the local United Way and YMCA Board of Directors. |
